William Watting for Fristho Sideboard in Teak with White Front

Sale price$7,450.00

William Watting for Fristho, sideboard, teak, brass, lacquered wood, Netherlands, 1950s.

Elegant sideboard designed by William Watting for Fristho from the fifties. Very slim tapered lacquered metal legs that come together in two triangle shapes that makes the design light and subtle. There is plenty of storage space, three drawers are situated in the middle of the sideboard and there are double doors with internal shelving at both sides. The white fronts are alternated by the natural wooden frame in teak.

Fristho, established in the northern region of the Netherlands in 1921 and operational until 1978, was a prominent design manufacturer founded by Jean Baptist Merckx and Gustaaf Andries de Vries. Demonstrating keen foresight, they embraced both Scandinavian and American design trends from the outset. In the 1960s, Fristho proudly positioned itself as the foremost exponent of Nordic design, while also maintaining a strong connection to Dutch functionalism.

Please note that the cabinet shows signs of wear and use, including spots and scratches. For further details, we encourage you to reach out to our team of design specialists.
