Spanish Stool in Stained Wood with Braided Leather Seat

Sale price$1,950.00

Stool or ottoman, leather, brass, beech, plywood, Spain, 1950s

This brutalist stool originates from Spain and stylistically refers to the late 19th century Revival period. The construction of the base resembles the chair known in Spanish as "Sillon de Caderas" (Hip-Joint). The seat contains braided cognac leather straps which are secured to the frame with nail-heads . Functionality comes into play through the various functions this item embraces: you can simultaneously use it as an ottoman for your easy chair or as a stool to sit on. The straps located on the wooden frame allow for easy movement. With the presence of spots, scratches and traces, this chair has a distinctive and sturdy appearance.
