Parisian Art Deco Sideboard in Solid Oak with Iron Elements

Sale price$8,750.00

Georges & Gaston Guérin, sideboard, solid oak, iron, Paris, France, 1930s/40s

Made in Paris, this sideboard is designed according to the French Art Deco design principles that rose to prominence in the 1930s and 1940s. This credenza clearly shows similarities with the works of French designer Charles Dudouyt. Masterful carvings and the use of fine materials characterize this piece. Notice the monumental legs composed of intricate circular carvings and the door panels that visualize crescent-shaped carvings. The deep warm color and expressive grains of the oakwood, in combination with the impeccable craftsmanship, lend it a luxurious and sophisticated appearance.
