Giuseppe Rivadossi for Officina Rivadossi Single Beds in Walnut and Oak

Sale price$5,600.00

Giuseppe Rivadossi for Officina Rivadossi, beds or daybeds, walnut, oak, Italy, 1980s

Giuseppe Rivadossi once again proves his great eye for materialization and technicality these beds are exemplary for. The pair is constructed using wooden panels secured to each other through wooden joints. This technical aspect of the structure makes it not only necessary for the stability, but also has a strong visual impact on the design itself and showcases the high-level of craftsmanship this bed has been made with. The wooden surface visualizes the artist’s hand and his movement to treat the wood with the use of intensive hand-planed and trimmed techniques. A real masterpiece that will stand the test of time and serve as a standout in one's interior.

Giuseppe Rivadossi (1935) was born in Monteclana di Nave, Italy, where he still lives and works. At a young age, Rivadossi's path begins with wood carving, with works reflecting on his poetic idea of living. In 1962, Rivadossi took over the carpentry founded in 1920 by his father Clemente, which he transformed into an atelier, or rather a creative workshop. Eventually, Rivadossi and collaborators established 'Officina Rivadossi' in 1976 where he started the manufacture of wooden objects and unique modern furniture.

Please note that the beds shows signs of wear and use like scratches and dents. For further details, we encourage you to reach out to our team of design specialists.
