Gaston Poisson Art Deco Vitrine Cabinet in Blond Oak
Gaston Poisson cabinet, oak, glass, brass, France, 1940s
Nice detailed cabinet in oak and glass. The high storage part consist of a vitrine part, with two glass shelves and a mirrored back. The lower part is a cabinet with two doors. This cabinet was designed with high attention to details, the doors have some nice wooden panels on the front, such as the outside of the cabinet. The smaller base and tapered legs are an elegant addition to the quite solid cabinet. All in warm blond oak with nice brass details.
This vitrine has a sturdy appearance, and is more robust then most Art Deco cabinets. Designers Charles Dudouyt, Jean-Charles Moureux and Gaston Poisson were masters in this style. They combined the more feminine and refined Art Deco style with graphical patterns and masculine elements.
