The founder of Artemide, Ernesto Gismondi (1931-2020), designed the lighting series 'Sintesi' in 1976. This first edition lamp in green is highly functional as the position of the light can adjusted by pulling the arm upwards or downwards. In the first release of the lamp, Gismondi utilized the renowned Cornalux bulb (B22-75 watt); however, due to objections concerning its elevated expense, he eventually adopted a different bulb and incorporated an aluminum cap to combat glare. The open construction and sleek lines add to the Industrial look. Characteristic detail is the grid consisting of bent iron rods. The stability of the lamp is guaranteed by a clamp-base, making this piece versatile and mobile. Gismondi made several variations of the Sintesi lamp objects that can be found in the design collection of the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
