This cabinet features a clear rhythm and flow established by means of a well-thought-out lay out that is utterly well-balanced. The carved panels immediately catch the eye and are the signature for this item; a design that established during the seventies when Brutalism was at his highest level specifically in Belgium. This movement is an architectural style started from the mid-20th century, aiming for raw, geometric and compromise-less buildings. Characterized by blatant concrete-skeletons with geometric patterns and Puritan materials. In decorative arts brutalism is highly represented in furniture design. The design convinces visually through its stabile construction accomplished by the remarkable straight and round contoured lines. In a captivating white and grey mix, the marble framework creates a beautiful combination with the darkened wood. Thanks to its rectangular shape, the sideboard provides plenty of storage space which allows the user to store its belongings. Overall, the style is simple and understated and strongly reminds of the designs of De Coene.
